Buzz Cut Clippers
The most important weapon in the buzz cutters arsenal is a good set of clippers. Quality clippers can mean the difference between a smooth even buzz and a bumpy piece of carpet. Here's some things to look for when buying your first set of clippers:
- Don't buy the first 26-piece set you see (even if it says "professional") thinking it will serve you all the days of your life.
- Don't fall for any of the gimmicks like the plastic carrying cases or hair cut cd-roms. There is only one thing to be concerned about: The quality of those clippers. Manufacturers throw in that extra stuff only because their clippers won't sell themselves.
- Read reviews! I will be posting reviews on this site in the coming days, but both Amazon.com
and Epinions.com can serve you well in your quest for the right machine for the job.
- As in most cases, you get what you pay for. Target or Wal-Mart may not be the best place to buy a good set of shears, as such stores typically only carry the more inexpensive kits. Read our guide to clipper motors to make sure you get the right clipper for your needs.
